Vice President, Products and Marketing, Intelsat

Karen Schmidt leads Intelsat’s combined Global Product Management and Marketing organization, with a team of product, segment and marketing professionals based around the globe.

Her team develops and supports segment-driven solutions for customers within the evolving Media, Broadband and Mobility sectors, enabling customers to more easily tap into the power of Intelsat’s Globalized Network to optimize and grow their businesses. Ms. Schmidt’s team also develops and delivers multi-pronged, go-to-market strategies to expand Intelsat’s market reach, drive demand and support global sales and customer retention.

Prior to joining Intelsat, Ms. Schmidt was the Vice President of Business Marketing at Comcast Business, where she helped grow the division from inception to revenues of $4 billion in seven years. Previously, Ms. Schmidt held executive product, marketing and business development positions at Comcast, Network Solutions, Concert Communications and MCI Communications.

Ms. Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She also attended graduate courses at Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
